Kayak Tour of Nerja and the Cliffs of Maro

Worry not, because for only €28 for adults and €17 for children (7-15 years old), you can discover the area on kayaks, on a guided tour through the Cerro Gordo, starting at Maro beach. There’s individual kayaks, or double ones if you want to team up – there’s no excuses for missing out!

On this 2 and a 1/2 hour tour you can take advantage of incredible views, as well as witnessing some marine life using goggles that will be provided. You’ll be able to go diving in caves that only kayaks can access.

There’s no need to worry on this kayak tour, as the introductory classes will mean you’ll have no difficulty at all out on the water. You’ll be fully aware of all the safety and security measures you need to know.

One of the best parts of the tour is that you’ll be told anecdotes and stories by the local tour guides about the area.

Information about the kayak tours in Nerja:

• Duration: 2 and a 1/2 hours (depending on the group and weather conditions). Participants are asked to be arrive 30 minutes before their tour start time.
• Schedule: High season is from 9:30 to 18:30 (with departures every 30 minutes)
• Difficulty: The tour is suitable for almost everybody, since it is always done with good weather conditions and minimal waves
• Requirements: It is essential to know how to swim, and to be able to paddle (People with reduced mobility can go as a companion in a double kayak
• Necessary equipment: Swimsuit, sunscreen and shoes that can get wet
• Recommended equipment: Snack or energy bars to regain strength, change of clothes and a t-shirt to wear under the life jacket

What does the tour include?

• Sports technicians that are qualified according to the current regulations of Active Tourism.
• Double or single kayak, paddles, life jacket, swimming goggles for diving.
• Insurance of R.C. and of Accidents according to Active Tourism regulations.
• Permits granted by the Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Sports of the Board of
  Andalusia, City Council of Nerja and Maritime Captaincy.
• Boats to support the tour.
• Free photo and video reports using a GoPro camera that you can take away with you on your mobile, memory card, usb or similar device.

Important observations for the guided kayak tour

• Restrictions: This activity is not recommended for pregnant women or children under 4 years of age. Reasons include fatigue for extended paddling in the case of small children, or for the posture and possible hits for pregnant women.
• Free: For children between 5-7 years old that can go between two adults in one of our double kayak
• Cancellations: When we are sure that the weather conditions are not suitable for kayaking we give one day’s notice. However there are times that you can not foresee sudden weather changes and in this case the company can decide to cancel the activity owing to safety concerns.
• Obligations: By law, the use of the lifejacket is mandatory for the entirety of the toor
