It\u2019s one of the most popular places in Andaluc\u00eda, a spot for the perfect photo of the sea, or a photo with the statue of the late king Alfonso XII who actually named this balcony after the big earthquake that hit\u00a0Nerja<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in 1884. Back in those days here stood a watch out fort called \u201cPaseo de la Bater\u00eda\u201d and the king shouted,fa \u201cthis is the\u00a0Balc\u00f3n de Europa<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Balc\u00f3n de Europa<\/strong>\u00a0is quite charming and all the tourists who visit\u00a0Nerja<\/strong>\u00a0will visit this balcony. Here you can take a stroll and also watch numerous artists (musicians, painters, jugglers) do their thing. Because it\u2019s in the center of Nerja it\u2019s a great spot to meet your friends or family and have an ice cream on one of the benches or in one of the many bars that surround this balcony.<\/p>\n

This is one of those places you just can\u2019t miss when you are staying in\u00a0Nerja<\/strong>. Beaches of the Balc\u00f3n de Europa<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The\u00a0Balc\u00f3n de Europa<\/strong>\u00a0finds itself surrounded by two of the most well-known beaches in Nerja. These\u00a0beaches<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are Calahonda to your left and Caletilla to your right, which also goes by the name of \u201cThe hotel\u2019s beach\u201d. These beaches are also well-known in the whole Axarqu\u00eda area.<\/p>\n

The beaches are perfect to spend the day on, especially if your accommodation is quite central or if you are just visiting Nerja for one day and want to have a quick swim after your long day walking round.<\/p>\n

Also, if you go to\u00a0Calahonda<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and walk around the rocks you can get to a good amount of other beaches.
